My grandmother's legacy

My grandmother was the strongest person I've ever known. When her husband passed away and she had two young children to raise, she started making children's clothing to support her family. When she passed away, I received her copy of the bonnet pattern that she had designed for me when I was born. I always admired her work ethic, her strength, and the beautiful clothing that she made. I think that she is smiling down on me with each item that I make and I take great pride in knowing that I inherited her love and talent for sewing.

In 2011 I started sewing anything and everything teaching myself this art. I had a couple of friends who were expecting babies so they got lots of blankets, rag quilts, tutus, burp rags...and pretty much anything else that I decided I wanted to try to make. They loved everything I sent them and they encouraged me to open up an Etsy shop. Since then I have sold more quilts than burp rags and I have a pretty good variety of items in the shop now. I love to sew whatever I'm in the mood for. Sometimes I want to make a quilt and sometimes I want to make a cute little outfit, or sometimes, when I'm busy with work and need to get a "fix", I'll sew a little zipper pouch.

I currently live in Western Colorado and love the endless gorgeous back drops for quilt photos and the access to outdoor activities year round.
